6 Days Kilimanjaro Machame Route Climb

The trek begins at Machame Gate after registration. The trail leads through a dense rainforest with scenic views and rich biodiversity before reaching Machame Camp for the night.

• Elevation: 3,000m to 3,840m

The hike continues through steep rocky trails as you leave the rainforest behind. The landscape opens up to a moorland filled with unique vegetation and panoramic mountain views before arriving at Shira Camp.

Elevation: 3,840m to 3,950m (via 4,630m at Lava Tower)

Hiking Time: 6-8 hours

Habitat: Alpine Desert

A crucial acclimatization day as you ascend to Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp. This climb-high, sleep-low approach improves your chances of reaching the summit.

The day starts with a climb up the famous Barranco Wall, followed by a trek across valleys and ridges leading to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit push. After an early dinner, you’ll rest before the midnight ascent.

• Elevation: 4,673m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak), then down to 3,100m
• Hiking Time: 10-14 hours
• Habitat: Arctic to Rainforest

The summit attempt starts at midnight. After a challenging ascent, you’ll reach Stella Point before pushing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Mweka Camp for the night.

• Hiking Time: 3-5 hours
• Habitat: Rainforest

The final descent takes you through lush rainforests to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate before returning to your hotel.
